
The team events of the 6th Singapore Junior and Hopes Invitational 2024 concluded on Tuesday, 12th June at the Singapore Sports School, and Singapore teams garnered a total of 5 medals – 2 Golds, 1 Silver and 2 Bronzes- across the different age group categories.
The gold medals came courtesy of both the Boys U12 and U19 teams, with Singapore A (U12) of Zane Ong, Isaiah Raphael Loh and Thaddeus Lim, winning a mini Causeway Derby, beating Table Tennis Association of Malaysia 2-1, while Singapore SSP 1 (U19), made up of Nicholas Tan, Ellsworth Le and Yang Zi Yi, emerged victorious over Dong San High School B of South Korea 2-0.

In the U19 Girls team final, Singapore IS, comprising Janissa Cheng, Tan Zhao Yun and Chloe Lai, lost a thriller against Table Tennis Association of Malaysia, 1-2.

Gisele Peh, Chong Zi Sian and Gisele Chin of Singapore YTS 1 claimed the bronze in the Girls U15 Team event when they fell to Lishan Junior High School A of Chinese Taipei 1-2 in the semi final, despite taking a 1-0 lead.
The other bronze went to Singapore B of the Girls U10 team event, after they lost to another Chinese Taipei team, Yun-Tzu-Hsin, 0-2, in the semifinal.
The Singles events of the competition begin today till Saturday.
