Assistant Table Tennis Coach, National Team & Intermediate Squad (2 years renewable contract)
The assistant coach for the National men’s team and Intermediate Squad shall assist the Head Coach to prepare and coach the National men’s team for Major Games, Major Championships, ITTF competitions and all other competitions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist Head Coach in overseeing the men’s team & Intermediate Squad
- Assist Head Coach to develop training and competition plan for the National men’s team & Intermediate Squad
- Work closely with Head Coach and SSI to incorporate Sports Science into training programme.
- Responsible for the performance of players under his or her charge.
- Monitor and maintain discipline of the players.
- Assist to conduct Performance Review for men’s Team
- Work closely with the Technical Director to conduct coaching workshop for the youth level coaches.
- To develop youth players from Intermediate Squad for progression into National Team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 4 years of coaching experience, including planning and physical preparation, sports psychology and sport sciences at National Team level. A club coach with proven results and experience will also be considered.
- A coaching, sports science and /or physical education degree would be an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
- Good command of Mandarin – verbal and written (need to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates).
- Basic command of English will be an advantage.

Table Tennis Coach
Roles and Responsibilities
- To provide professional table tennis coaching services primarily for students of pre-secondary school (age 5 to 12 years old) at the training centres and/or other youth development and Learn-to-play programmes.
- To develop player performance pathways to grow into more competitive table tennis opportunities.
- To work closely with the Head Coach and the management in ensuring that coaching programs are designed to complement the Association’s mission, and are implemented in accordance with the Association’s operating policies and growth plans.
Job Requirements
- Passion and sufficiently proficient for Table Tennis and for coaching.
- Experience in coaching Table Tennis sport, especially to children, will be an advantage.
- Ability and willingness to mentor and motivate students with a wide range of skills, ages and physical abilities.
- Ability to design, plan and deliver effective coaching sessions.
- 51/2 days’ work weekly.
- Be able to travel to different work locations
- Proficient in English & Mandarin, written & verbal (Need to communicate with Mandarin speaking associates).
- Table Tennis NCAP or relevant coaching certification. Registration with NROC will be an advantage.
