
Up and coming youngster, Arissa Cheng, 12, clinched her second runners up medal in the space of a week after coming up short in a thrilling final to Albane Rochut of France in the Girls U13 Singles at the WTT Youth Contender Havirov 2025.
The Singapore Sports School student fought tooth and nail with her French opponent before eventually losing 3-2 (11-9, 5-11, 9-11, 14-12, 10-12) to settle for second.
Arissa had also claimed 2nd in the same event at the WTT Youth Contender Wladyslowowo five days earlier.
Teammate Chevelle See, the champion at Wladyslowowo, had to settle for joint-3rd in Havirov, after she had lost 3-0 (7-11, 6-11, 5-11) to Rochut in the semifinals.
Both Arissa and Chevelle will have a chance to add more silverware in the Girls U15 Singles, after having qualified from the group stages for the knockout rounds.
