
Singapore’s rising table tennis star Loy Ming Ying delivered a stunning performance at the 2025 SEA Youth Table Tennis Championships, capturing the Girls’ Under-15 Singles title after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Thailand’s Kulapassr Vijitvirayagul in the final.
In a fiercely contested match that showcased the exceptional talent of Southeast Asia’s next generation, Loy edged out her Thai rival with a scoreline of 4-11, 11-5, 11-6, 5-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9 to secure the coveted title.
The 15-year-old Singaporean demonstrated nerves of steel and outstanding resilience, bouncing back each time the momentum shifted and sealing the win in a nail-biting seventh game. Her tactical awareness, lightning-quick reflexes, and fighting spirit earned loud applause from the crowd and underscored her rising status in the regional table tennis scene.
“I’m very proud of this win,” said Loy after the match. “Kulapassr is a very tough opponent, and every set was a real battle. I just stayed focused, trusted my training, and kept believing in myself. “
Loy’s victory adds to her stellar year, following her double triumph at the WTT Youth Contender Cappadocia in February 2025, where she captured both the Girls’ U17 and U19 Singles titles.
With her latest success, she continues to establish herself as one of the most promising young athletes in Singapore sport.
