Singapore’s rising star, Loy Ming Ying, 13, clinched four titles at the STTA National ‘B’ Division Championships 2024 which concluded on Sunday, 4 February at the OCBC Arena after two weeks of intense and exciting competition.
The National Intermediate Squad player, fresh from her U-15 Girls Singles victory at the WTT Youth Contender Antalya, was in dominant form throughout the competition and there were no surprises on Sunday.
In her first final, the Mixed Doubles, she partnered her brother, Loy Xing Yao to a 3-0 victory over Chan Lu Wen and Tay Jit Kiat. She then partnered Chloe Lai to win the Women’s Doubles over Jacy Mok and Tan Zhao Yun, 3-1.
In the Women’s Singles final, she was given a scare as Tan took a 2-1 lead, but the 15 year-old bounced back in the final two sets to clinch the 3-2 victory.
Exhausted but undeterred, she then helped Singapore Sports School Red to clinch the Women’s Team title with a 3-0 win over SunSports Girls.
Congratulations Ming Ying for an outstanding performance!
