Unsung Heros

Jing Junhong 井浚泓

Designation:

Head Coach, National Women’s Team

Information:

In 2009, Jing was named deputy head coach of the women’s team and the head coach of the women’s team from 2013 to 2015.  During her term, she has been in charge of the development of the women’s team and has contributed significantly to the women’s team successes at the 2010 World Team Table Tennis Championships, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, SEA Games and London Olympic Games 2012.

From 2015 onwards, Jing was tasked to groom the younger generation of players.  Jing Jun Hong raised the standard of our young athletes and Team Singapore has the best finish at South East Asian (SEA) Junior & Cadet Table Tennis Championships since 2016.

With effect from April 2022, Jing was reappointed as the Head Coach of the National Women’s Team to continue her efforts with the younger generation of players.

 

Hao Anlin 郝安林

Designation:

Deputy Head Coach, National Women’s Team

Information:

Coach Hao has been supporting the women’s team since 2005  has a great working relationship with the women’s team.

The athletes see him as a good coach and enjoy working with him. In addition, Hao is also very familiar with the technical aspects of our women’s team and its opponents.

Gao Ning 高宁

Designation:

Head Coach, National Men’s Team

Information:

Coach Gao was appointed the men’s team coach in January 2019.  The three-time Olympian took over a team made of Singapore born talents, to name a few:  Clarence Chew, Koen Pang, Ethan Poh and Izaac Quek.

Under his charge, Clarence Chew was the first Singapore born paddler to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games.  In addition, Clarence Chew and his doubles partner Ethan Poh stun world No. 7 men’s doubles pair Ovidiu Ionescu and Alvaro Robles to advance to the quarter-finals of the Singapore Smash 2022.

Koen Pang was the first Singapore born paddler to score his first SEA Games singles gold in 2019.

At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Team Singapore upset top seeds England to reach table tennis men’s team final.  The men’s team finished with a Team silver.

Jeremy Ng is STTA’s Strength and Conditioning Coach. He has been working with the National Team, keeping them ready for Major Games and World Championships since 2016. His recent contribution is preparing Clarence Chew for the Olympic Qualifier which ended with Clarence becoming the first local born male table tennis player to qualify for Olympics.

Prior to joining STTA, Jeremy held similar positions in Home United Football Club, Football Association of Singapore and Singapore Sports Institute. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a MSc in Sports Studies and a BSc in Sports Science from University of Western Australia.
