
The Singapore pairing of Ser Lin Qian and Tan Zhao Yun had a run to remember in Chongqing, China, at the 28th Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships 2024 when they clinched a joint-3rd place finish in the U19 Girls’ Doubles.
They shared the medal with the Chinese Taipei duo of Chen Chi-Shiuan and Cheng Pusyuan, after both pairs lost to Chinese opposition in the semifinals.
The Singapore pair began their campaign with a bye in the Round of 32, before carving out a come from behind 3-1 victory over Bahraini pair of Maryam Alaali and Amruka Phadke, 11-13, 11-9, 11-7, 12-10.
They then silenced the Chinese crowd when they beat Yan Yutong and Xu Haiyao in the Quarterfinals, in an epic 3-2 (6-11, 11-9, 4-11, 16-14, 14-12) victory that could have gone either way.
However, their run was ended in the semifinal by the eventual champions, Zhang Xiangyu and Zong Geman, when they were comprehensively beaten 4-11, 4-11, 4-11.

This medal exceeded all expectations for the pair, who have performed impressively in recent competitions.
