Singapore’s youth paddlers clinched 2nd and two 3rd placings at the WTT Youth Contender Wladyslowowo 2024 that concluded earlier today.
13-year-old rising star, Loy Ming Ying, finished runners up in the U15 Girls Singles, as she lost to Chinese Taipei’s Chen Min-Hsin, 11-5, 9-11, 2-11, 10-12.
This was her second straight 2nd place finish, after also finishing runners up in the same event at the WTT Youth Contender Spa in April.

Chen did a double over Singapore, as she had also earlier beaten Janelle Chiang in the semi finals, 11-7, 11-4, 11-6, which saw Chiang secure joint third, making it back to back third place finishes for the Singaporean teenager after a similar effort at the WTT Youth Contender Metz.
Ser Lin Qian, 18, also clinched a joint third finish in the U19 Girls Singles. Despite battling hard, she could not find a way past Chinese Taipei’s Yeh Yi-Tian in the semifinals, succumbing 10-12, 6-11, 8-11.
She had earlier beaten Natalia Bogdanowicz of Poland and U17 Singles champion, Leana Hochart of France, 3-1 and 3-0 in the Round of 16 and Quarterfinals respectively.
The team will next compete at the WTT Youth Contender Havirov and WTT Youth Contender Berlin, taking place from 27 May to 2 June.
